Advanced Goalkeeping Training Sessions prove successful
Goalkeepers in MA & CT get advanced tuition and make the first MLS Goalkeeper camps a success so far
Two weeks into the summer program, the Advanced Goalkeeper Training Programs at Wrentham, MA and Trumbull CT have proved be a success, with 40+ goalkeepers attending and getting Tuition from Leon and his hand picked Goalkeeping staff.
The goalkeepers have had to deal with whole season of weather conditions, during each week of camp. Both weeks saw sweltering heat, followed by torrential rain, but moral was high throughout and the enthusiasm of the keepers was tremendous. Trumbull provided a packed to capacity camp and the full entourage of keeper coaches which included Brad Jeeves and Kevin Coles. Aimed at the competitive goalkeeper aged U10 and higher, these week long camps give goalkeepers the techniques, knowledge and confidence to be lifted beyond their vision of capability. During one of the theory sessions at camp, the discussion came up on when and how a goalkeeper has possession of the ball. This is important as it determines how much of the ball we have before an opponent can rightly win the ball. With the help of Don Becker, official referee we came up with the following.
