With the season upon us - Preparation is the key!
Fail to prepare and prepare to fail
No two games are the same and the goalkeeper should be prepared for all eventualities.
Match preparation entails approaching the game with the right mental attitude as well as being physically prepared.
Some of the top goalkeepers warm up the same before every game. A routine as it were that almost gets superstitious. It's a routine that works for them to ensure they get the best warm up and to feel as ready as possible before that whistle goes.
Us goalkeepers are different and it is important we warm up differently. Your coach should appreciate this and allow you to warm up separately with a fellow goalkeeper or a substitute or an assistant coach.
