Goalkeeping Rules
This section provides useful hints involving the rules of the game which may give you that edge over your opponents. Some stuff may seem obvious but the rules here are from questions asked by players.
The throw on
Opposing players may not be off side when it is a throw on.
If the ball is thrown straight into the goal from a throw, it is no goal.
Dead balls
Be aware when it is a direct or indirect Free Kick. It is indirect if the referee raises the arm. An indirect kick must be touched by another player before it goes in the goal. For example, if during a indirect free kick a player kicks it into the goal with no one else touching it, you as the goalkeeper can let it go in.
A corner is like a direct free kick.
Be aware that players may score directly from kick off
Field of play
It is an offence to mark the field deliberately with your studs.
The ball must completely cross any line for it to be deemed out of play or a goal.
Penalties
Goalkeepers may move in any direction along the goal line before and during a penalty kick
