Leon started work for MLSC in July 2005 in San Jose, California. From that time to November he worked with youth development for the San Jose Earthquakes. A move to the East Coast of the country in November saw his role change to Soccer Development Officer in New England, establishing coaching programs at the Rhode Island Indoor Center and encoraging the game of soccer in schools.

Since March Leon has taken the mantle of Goalkeeping Director, testing the water in New England with eight Advanced Summer Goalkeeping Training Programs aswell as spreading the Hands Leading word to hundreds of goalkeepers in the New England area through MLS Camps.

"There is great enthusiasum for the position of goalkeeper here. I have met a lot of good goalkeepers" said Leon when asked about the standard of the goalkeepers he is working with. What future plans lay ahead for the MLSC Coach of the year? My aim as Goalkeeping Director is to create a truely world class program that is recognised throughout the world.
